Food & Wine Festivals/Conventions & Shows

American Wine and Food Festival in LA on September 16, 06 (Post Coverage)

We heard one person say in passing, “this is the best event of the year”.” and judging by the smiles on peoples faces as they casually drank, ate, and strolled through the beautiful back lot of Universal Studios, we would have to agree. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood and why not? The weather was absolutely perfect; the food was delicious ; the wine poured freely and the tequila & vodka were big hits through giant blocks of ice. The back lot set of Universal makes you feel like you are walking through different cities or countries around the world. One minute it feels like you are walking down a street in New York City, and the next minute through the Southwest and then even through cities in Europe. It’s the perfect setting for food that is prepared by gourmet chefs that are influenced by different cultures and countries all over the world. These chefs all want to show off their signature dishes, so the result is mouthwatering lobster, perfectly grilled jumbo shrimp, grade A sushi and lamp chops so tender they practically fall off the bone. Don’t miss the exquisite desserts all around the grounds with coffee and after dinner wines. As the booths of food and wine start to close up shot and people can’t eat another bite, the night continues for a nightcap and some dancing in a back stage lounge area. Seating areas with low lying couches and pillows covered by white canopies are the perfect setting to wind down after a satisfying night of eating fine food and drinking fine wine. If you can still stand, you can dance off a few calories before shuttles conveniently drop you back to your car. Look out for next September 2007 for the next Meals on Wheels Event.
