Delmonico’s Fine Dining Seafood Grille – July 14th, 2002

If you are looking for great selection and quality, look no further as we recently discovered one of the better Seafood Restaurants around the city. Delmonicos is located at 9320 W. Pico Blvd. near Beverly Hills. They have also just opened a location in Pasadena at 260 E. Colorado Blvd. to expand their establishments.

Their fabulous appetizers we suggest consist of delicious crab cakes with a lemon mustard seed sauce, crispy calamari with three dipping sauces, corn tamale with grilled shrimp, tuna or salmon tartar and an array of fresh oysters, clams and mussels prepared numerous ways. The lobster bisque and clam chowder are the way to go if you are craving soup.

Delmonicos does serve other dishes besides seafood such as steaks, chicken, veal chops, rack of lamb, and many pasta choices with or without seafood. All dinners come with different selections of vegetables and are prepared with very unique wine sauces depending on what you order. Other specialty vegetables and potatoes can be ordered al a carte.

The real way to go here is the fresh fish. The chefs expertise suggests two different preparations. Either grilled or pan- sauteed for you to enjoy. The grilled selections are Halibut with a curry glaze in a lemon butter sauce; Pacific Swordfish with crab pancakes with a spiced rum glaze; Ahi saucemustard sauce; delectible Sea Scallops; Salmon, Orange Roughy and Snapper prepared any of the above ways. The Chefs are flexible and can prepare any of the fish pretty much any way you choose with any sauce.

Most of the same dishes can be pan-sauteed also. However, there are a few different specialty preparations such as the highly recommended Chilean Seabass in a potato crust with a cabarnet sauce and the Halibut in a pecan crust with a vermouth sauce that are both beautifully sauteed. Blackened Swordfish, Mississippi Catfish in cornmeal crust and Salmon in a pistachio crust are some other great choices. If you are craving shellfish, there is no shortage here as Delmonico’s has Live Maine Lobster, Alaskin King Crab which was amazing, Shrimp Scampi, and Seared Sea Scallops so no matter which one, you cannot go wrong.

Hours are 11:30am-10pm(Monday-Friday), 5pm-10pm(Saturday), and 4pm-10pm (Sunday). For reservations, please call (310) 550-7737 for the L.A. location and (626) 844-7700 for the Pasadena location. What a great dining experience in a very nice setting and atmosphere as you enjoy some of the best seafood and other specialties in the city.
