“Delirium” Cirque du Soleil Live Music Show (10/06)
Delirium presents a new unique performance by Cirque du Soleil with a Live Music Variety Extraveganza.
The opening concert was really great and along the same lines of the music typically played at the Cirque Shows.. The voice of this beautiful young talented lady as well as the music were flawless. www.nitza.com
As opposed to the main act, it was CLEAN, proper, & not confusing.
Here is my feeling as one who didn’t know what to expect but knowing only it was a CIRQUE DU SOLEIL presentation.
We understand the purpose of DELIRIUM was to emulate a dream like state, still I feel they were trying to fill as much as possible with colors and songs.
As a adagio acrobatics aficionado and practitioner, we certainly appreciated the performances by the single, the duo and the four amazing acrobat balancing athletes, without forgetting the breathtaking hula girl.
The visuals and the music were just beautiful. All of the acts and stunts were almost a background to the Live Music performance. On all other Cirque Du Soleil shows, the music is not the main draw or attention getter. Delirium gives a different approach and this traveling tour around the USA and Canada keeps the show fresh. Don’t get us wrong- the acrobats, gymnasts and specialty entertainers are still there!
Delirium main focus is on the music. Anyone that has bought a CD in the past for any of the shows and likes it must see this performance. There is more of a concert/theater feeling with more of a vocal sound/lighting effect with a bit less humor on this show. On other Cirque shows, there seems to be some pre-entertainers warming up the crowd and being silly during the intermission and at some points during the show. At Delirium, it is more about listening to the Live Band directly on stage in front of you along with the entertainers/artists as opposed to ban being behind the scenes or in the background. All in all, a fabulous suggested Show to see when it comes to your town.
