LA Kings get a tough Road Win at San Jose 2-1 (November 24, 07)
The LA Kings held on for a very tough win against one of the better teams in the league 2-1 over the home iced San Jose Sharks on November 24, 07. Both Dustin Brown and second year budding star Anze Kopitar (pictured below) scored their 9th goals of the season to stake the road Kings with a 2-0 lead. That cushion held true until a later 3rd period goal by Sharks forward Milan Michalek. Jason LaBarbera (pictured below) out dueled Eveni Nabokov to lead Los Angeles to victory.
The Kings played without one of their star players Alexander Frolov, out with a groin injury, but hung on at the end and pretty much controlled the game. The Sharks best players Joe Thornton (pictured below) and Patrick Marleau were held in check. Ex King and longtime favorite Jeremy Roenick (also pictured below on the bench #27) is second on the team in scoring while Jonathan Cheechoo has been underachieving.
San Jose coach Ron Wilson (pictured above) has high hopes for his team and they are one of the favorites in the Western Conference. The Kings played a well-balanced game and have been lead by Mike Cammalleri, Kopitar, Brown and Frolov so far this season. Coach Marc Crawford has a goal to reach the playoffs for his young team. There has been a lot of parity in the NHL this season so even though the Kings are in last place in their division, they are not many points behind and a little hot streak gets them right back in the race.
