LA Clippers lose to New Orleans Hornets at the Staples Center and are off to a slow start (11/08)

The LA Clippers have a new face lift but the results are still the same. They have had many losses despite having a good team on paper.  However, it is not how you look on paper, it is how you play on the court and work with team chemistry.  The New Orleans Hornets came to town and turned a close game into a nice road victory with some key fourth quarter plays.

Chris Paul led the way with a triple double while David West scored 27 points to carry the offensive load.  Peja Stojakovic hit some key jumpers to help with the balanced attack.  The Hornets and Coach Byron Scott have high hopes this season after advancing far into the playoffs last year.  They also picked up James Posey from the Celtics to add to their bench strength.  They need center Tyson Chandler to perform at a higher level as he has showed in the past.

The Clippers missed newly acquired Zach Randolph because the final paperwork hadn’t been cleared on the trade that brought him here in exchange for Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas.  LA was in desparate need for some inside scoring so this should benefit.  Camby and Kamen haven’t gelled together this year so the Ex- Knick and Blazer Randolph will be a welcome addition.  The Clips also received guard Mardy Collins to help with the bench.  With the trade, the Clippers will look to rookie Eric Gordon and Baron Davis to turn things around.  Gordon responded with his best game as a pro getting 25 points while Davis played another solid game after coming over from Golden State in the off season.
