TASTE AT THE BEACH—THE SOUTH BAY’S TOP SUMMER EVENT

Hermosa Beach, Ca….The Kiwanis Club of Hermosa Beach is hosting their Fourth Annual “Taste at the Beach” Food and Wine Extravaganza on Sunday, August 23 from 4PM to 8PM at the Hermosa Beach Community Center, (corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Pier Avenue), to benefit Kiwanis sponsored charities.  As usual, the event will feature the finest wine and gourmet dishes from the areas top restaurants, caterers and wine vendors, a live jazz band and silent auction.

“Guests can walk from table to table sampling some of the best dishes from the finest restaurants, caterers and vintners, while sipping their favorite wine and listening to great jazz.  “What could be better than great food and wine in a beautiful relaxed summer setting,” said event coordinator Paul Amarillas.  “Last year we sold out so better get your tickets early,” he added.

Restaurants and vintners participating in the event include  Mediterraneo, Darren’s, Ortega 120, Catering by Leslie Schirle, Whole Foods, North End Bar & Grill, Buona Vita Trattoria, Pinkies BBQ, Fresh Brothers, Ocean Diner, Java Man, Café Boogaloo, Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ Bar & Grill, Cantina Real, Paciugo Italian Gelato, Barefoot Wine and Champagne, Classic Wines, Wyder’s Cider, Double Cross Wines, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., and AJB Vineyards.

“At a time when most people are trying to cut back on expenses, this is a great way to dine out, experience  fine cuisine from a variety of top restaurants, pair it with your favorite wine and not have to reach deeply into your pockets.” said Taste Chairman Bob McEachen.

Jan Brittain, who heads the silent auction committee, is very excited about this year’s selection.  “We have items at great bargains for everyone; individuals, groups and families.  I just might bid myself on the one week vacation in Cabo San Lucas,” she exclaimed.

Mary and Dave McMillan, who have attended all three Taste At The Beach events, can’t wait.  “For foodies like us this is the best summer event in the South Bay!  There is nothing better than being able to sample so many tasty dishes from our local restaurants in one setting.”
