Tra di Noi-Malibu Family Wines Non-Traditional Pairing Menu for FOOD EVENT ’09

To welcome the upcoming “The Food Event ‘09, Tra di Noi Chef Francesco and host Tarcisio Mosconi created a special non-traditional wine and seasonal food pairing menu with sensational wines from their good neighbor, Malibu Family Wines.  The menu is offered October through November.

 

The most popular dish will be prepared bythe two at a demonstration at “The Food Event” at Saddlerock Ranch,  Sunday, October 25, 1- 4 PM. Adventurous California chefs were among the first to stretch the limits of convention with wine and food pairings (think red wines with fish and seafood; white with meat), using new blends of lighter, lively red wines and more complex whites, often leading not only to exciting dishes but new trends.  

Knowing how to break those rules is a well-honed skill, though Chef Francesco at Tra di Noi sugests certain "new rules."  For example, when pairing red wines with fish and seafood, think of the sauce rather than the main protein ingredient, especially with more elaborate classic seafood dishes.  Another is matching meaty fishes (rather than poached) and other seafood with lighter fruity red wine styles.
