Big Bear Mountain Ski Resort not far from Los Angeles (3/12)

Our visit to the Big Bear mountain ski resort was a great experience.

To begin with, the previous weekend snowed quite a bit, so all the runs were open.
I thought that this wold make it too crowded and crowded it was!
But to my surprise, thanks to how well organized the resort has it, from parking, to getting
your ski rentals, lift tickets and getting on to the lifts, it was no problem at all!

This crowded weekend, also made for a good skiers atmosphere. Hanging out at the front huge deck after getting our food from the food court was a great break from the slopes.
The runs have it all, from beginners to mid level to advanced and a great snowboard freestyle park.

These are some of their facts:

The mountain has 15% of trails for beginners, 40% for intermediate and 20% for advanced, all covering 85% of the mountain!
There is a total of 12 lifts with two being high speed.

There is also night sking! with the following schedule:
Friday Nights: November 25, 2011; December 16, 2011 through March 2, 2012.

All Friday Nights are regular rate except December 23 & 30, 2011.

Saturday Nights: November 26, 2011 through March 10, 2012.
All Saturday Nights are Holiday/Peak Weekend rates except November 26 and December 3 & 10, 2011.The resort also offers ski and snowboard schools to enhance your visit experience!

We were lucky to see the downhill snowboarders race over the snow bumps and it was lots of fun and hilarious!
