Celebrated an Exclusive First-Look at the Premiere Show on Wednesday, October 9th
WHAT: The Los Angeles Antiques, Art + Design Show kicked off on
Wednesday, October 9th with its annual Opening-Night Preview
Party, bringing together VIPs and influencers from the worlds of
design, fashion, art, entertainment, and culture for a special preview
of the show. More than a thousand guests mingled and enjoyed an
evening of champagne provided by Piper-Heidsieck and hors
d’oeuvres while previewing decorative and fine arts from more than
43 of the most respected art and antiques dealers in the world.
Proceeds from the Opening-Night party benefitted the Decorative
Arts and Design Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art,
which also recognized world-renowned photographer Tim Street-
Porter and his wife, noted author Annie Kelly with the prestigious
Design Leadership Award. Premiere sponsors for the evening

ABOUT LAAADS: The Los Angeles Antiques Art + Design Show, now in its 18th
year, is one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious and highly anticipated
shows of the year. Presented by the Antiques Dealers Association of
California (ADAC) and managed by Dolphin Promotions. the show
continues to feature decorative and fine art reflecting all design
movements across the millennia, including American and European

ABOUT 3LABS: 3Labs Studio is located in the Hayden Tract arts district in Culver City and is centrally sited on LA’s west side just south of the 10 Freeway.
The Hayden Tract, a former warehouse district, is now home to

(Los Angeles, CA – December 6, 2012) The LA Art Show, now in its 18th year, is the longest running platform for contemporary, modern, historic and traditional fine art in the country. The 2012 show hosted more than 100 prominent galleries and attracted more than 50,000 visitors with its ‘Fair-within-a-Fair’ concept featuring distinct sections catering to diverse collecting genres. Taking place from January 24-27, The LA Art Show kicks-off at the Los Angeles Convention Center with a star-studded opening hosted by Ali Larter and Hayes MacArthur benefitting The Art of Elysium and the J. Paul Getty’s Education Department on January 23.
Taking a cue from the public art museum model, where there has long been a trend of juxtaposing contemporary art alongside older works to show movements and highlight the evolution of art through the ages, the LA Art Show is entirely unique in the art world, providing collectors with a complete art experience through an expansive breadth of galleries that crosses contemporary, historic and print genres.
The show’s diverse array of artworks and galleries have been carefully curated and grouped into digestible sections. In essence, the LA Art Show is three distinct art shows under one roof. The Modern & Contemporary Section, The Historic & Traditional Contemporary Section & The Los Angeles IFPDA Fine Print Fair have been honed with the collector in mind. Unique in atmosphere, the aesthetics of each section have been designed to complement the art and create an immersive environment for collectors.
The Modern & Contemporary Section:
From blue-chip artists including Pablo Picasso and Salvatore Dali to the art stars of today such as Damien Hirst & David Bailey, The Modern & Contemporary Section showcases paintings, installations, sculptures and performance pieces by the world’s influential visionaries and trendsetters.

The Los Angeles IFPDA Fine Print Fair:
The International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) is an organization of expert dealers dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of printmaking, a medium of artistic expression that has been used for over 500 years. Juxtaposing many periods and movements, The Los Angeles IFPDA Fine Print Fair Section features a broad spectrum or works that include: Old Masters, German Expressionist, Antique and modern Japanese, 18th and 19th century European, 19th-century American, American Regionalist, Latin- American, and Modern Works to Contemporary Masterworks and new editions.

Hosted by The Art of Elysium supporters Ali Larter and Hayes MacArthur, 100% of proceeds from the Opening Night Premiere Party will help The Art of Elysium to expand its program to bring arts to medically fragile children and increase the number of school children who visit the Getty through The J. Paul Getty Museum through its program for Title One School visits.

All proceeds from the 2013 Opening Night Premiere Party ticket sales will be donated to The Art of Elysium, a non-profit organization dedicated to building bridges between the professional arts community, and children whose lives are constrained by illness. Their “full-circle” mission provides career support services for emerging fine and performing artists, and in turn, engages those artists in volunteering their talents with our free arts outreach programs in pediatric hospitals and medical facilities. The Elysium Full Circle encompasses four arts platforms including Elysium Collections (Fashion Design), Elysium Project (Fine Arts), Elysium Sessions (Music), and Elysium Industry (Theatre/Media Arts).
Proceeds generated from Opening Night Premiere Party ticket sales will also support visits for students from Los Angeles area schools to the J.Paul Getty Museum, through the Museum’s fully subsidized Title One bus transportation program. This program ensures that as many students as possible from throughout Los Angeles can visit the Getty and experience its collection and the site through guided visits and architecture and garden tours. Each year, more than 100,000
students and their teachers visit the J. Paul Getty Museum at its two locations, giving young people the opportunity to enjoy direct experiences with original works of art.
