(SANTA MONICA, CA) – Sept. 2013 — The Georgian Hotel, an iconic beacon of Art Deco beauty

perched above the Pacific Ocean since 1933 and the Santa Monica Conservancy, the only local, non-
governmental organization solely focused on the important mission of preservation, have joined together

to celebrate the rich heritage and architectural wonder of the landmark hotel. To commemorate the

anniversary, the Georgian Hotel has announced a special Anniversary Affair set for Oct. 16 which

will benefit the Santa Monica Conservancy (100% of all ticket sales to go directly to the conservancy).

In addition, the hotel will launch a one-of-a-kind fundraiser which will allow hotel guests to contribute

to the preservation of landmark properties in Santa Monica by donating any amount they wish to the

special Georgian Hotel/Santa Monica Conservancy Matching Fund; the Georgian Hotel will match all

donations through the end of 2013 up to $5000.

“We wanted to celebrate the 80th

we felt that the important work being done by the Santa Monica Conservancy needed to be celebrated

as well,” explains Juan Viramontes, general manager of the Georgian Hotel. “As a company, we have

many ongoing programs which support and raise money for local organizations,” notes Larry Broughton,

CEO, broughtonHOTELS. “With the Georgian Hotel’s 80th

the funds needed to ensure that they can continue to support landmark buildings like the Georgian Hotel.”

Anniversary celebration,” says Carol Lemlein, president, Santa Monica Conservancy. “The Georgian

Hotel is truly a landmark property that deserves to be recognized not only for the preservation of its historic

architecture, but also for the hard work and dedication that broughtonHOTELS and the hotel’s GM, Juan

Viramontes and his staff have put into making it a true gem of the city. The Georgian has welcomed the

docents and participants in our historic downtown walking tour for years, and we are proud to be their

partner in this 80th anniversary celebration.”

Possibly one of the most famous buildings in Los Angeles, The Georgian Hotel was built as an intimate

seaside hideaway for the exclusive Hollywood set, and continues to attract Hollywood’s elite and

local/national and international visitors seeking the most distinctive boutique hotel experience set in an

architectural treasure.

The Georgian Hotel is set to honor its fabled past with the Landmark Package. This package will allow

Rich in history and Hollywood glamour, a lesser known fact about The Georgian Hotel was that it was

home to one of Los Angeles’ first Speakeasy bars (which still exists today in the hotel’s lower level—

with alley-way entry). The Georgian Speakeasy, complete with rich red booths, wood paneling and

hidden lower level location, serves as a classic reminder to guests of the hotel’s unique past, while today

it serves as a discreet spot for private events and parties. Not only will the speakeasy be home to the 80th

Anniversary party, it will also host a series of upcoming salons hosted by an interesting mix of city mavens

and friends.

Hotel is located at 1415 Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
