A Fantasy Musical Tale for Kids 2 to 102

Santa Monica, CA. April 13, 2016.  Santa Monica Playhouse is proud to present the return of SNOWHITE, the newest in its captivating series of Rudie-DeCarlo musical fairy tales for young-at-heart audiences of all ages. SNOWHITE, a heart-warming tale of companionship, coming-of-age, and the magical bond between mothers and daughters, follows everyone’s most beloved young heroine as she journeys to find herself, her mother, and her true destiny, aided by Seven Silly Companions and a Most Magical Mirror.  Opens April 23rd, 2016, playing every Saturday and Sunday afternoon through June.

“Every production is a must-see for the whole family! Excellently written.” THE GOOD LIFE

Brought to vibrant and colorful life by the acclaimed writer-director team of Evelyn Rudie and Chris DeCarlo, this delightfully original musical fantasy brings audiences together to help Snowhite, aided by Seven Companions (three triplets plus one) and a magical mirror that appears and disappears at will. No evil Stepmother here, no shadowy forests or villainous potions; just a wondrously humorous and touching tale of friendship, dedication and discovery, as Snowhite, learns that love does, indeed, conquer all even though it can sometimes be found in the most unlikely places. Abundant audience participation adds to the merriment of this enchanting musical adventure.

Modeled on the original 1812 Brothers Grimm tale, SNOWHITE examines stereotypes, familial bonds, ethics, friendship, the power of commitment, and the value of tolerance and understanding. Beautifully-detailed Medieval costumes by award-winning designer Ashley Hayes and sparkling sets and special effects by James Cooper from the 1854 illustrations, add to the historical authenticity of this exciting interactive family-friendly production.

“It was great!” Richard Dean Anderson        “Awesome! Great message!” M. Ferrante
