Gavin DeGraw September 15th at The Greek Theatre Los Angeles

On September 15, 2016, singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw hit the stage at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles to an excited crowd. Wearing his classic brimmed hat Gavin brought energy to the stage throughout his hour-long set stunning the crowd with classics like “Chariot” and “Best I Ever Had”.

He opened his set behind a delightfully painted piano but quickly moved to the front of the stage dancing and entertaining the crowd as his band jammed behind him. The show was equal parts rock show and simple ballad showcase.

After a few high energy songs, he easily transitioned into an acoustic trio set covering James Bay’s “Let It Go” and his own song “Soldier”, he pumped the energy back up with “Not Over You”. Then Gavin stunned the crowd by hopping off stage and running around the excited fans while singing perhaps his most famous song “I Don’t Wanna Be” — the theme song from The WB’s long-running teen drama One Tree Hill. Afterwards, Gavin ran off stage, officially ending the set.

After roaring applause and with plenty of excitement in the audience, Gavin returned to the stage for an encore of his latest single “She Sets the City on Fire” and ending the night with “Hey Jude”. Opening act Andy Grammar joined Gavin on stage for the last song. Ending with a classic song known by everyone was the perfect finale.

Gavin’s energy transferred easily to the audience and he perfectly engaged them throughout. After 15 years, it’s nice to see Gavin still around and making beautiful music.
