The Platinum Hotel off the strip in Las Vegas offers all suites and great spa/ameneties (6/11)

The Platinum Hotel  in Las Vegas

The Platinum Hotel, in Las Vegas, is a lesser-known sweet treat of suites — highly recommended as an off-strip sanctuary for those who seek quality, quiet and comfort. (Platinum Hotel is also smoke-free with no casino)

Having said that, let’s take a look at some of the stand-out features of this welcoming hideaway:

Off the strip and no casino! I don’t know anyone who has been to Las Vegas and said, “they need more casinos here.” Without a casino, the Plantinum Hotel can provide larger suites, in a quieter environment, with more emphasis on hotel accommodations. And, of course, without that familiar casino smoke.

Because it is about a 10-minute walk off the strip, there is less noise, less traffic and more “elbow” room. We all like that.

The guest suites: Guests do not check into the Platinum just to get a nice room. Rather, guests are offered the choice of full amenity* suites:

  • The Solitaire suite is 900+ sq. ft., with or without a strip view.
  • The Princess** suite is 1,150 sq. ft., with optional strip view. Like the Solitaire, the Princess can accommodate 1 king or 2 queens (bed).
  • The Marquis suite is a massive, 2,165 sq. ft., 2 master king bedroom suite with 2 oversized bathrooms (including whirlpool tubs), a wrap around terrace balcony (featuring a private outdoor terrace overlooking the Vegas strip) and a private dining area.
  •

Ahh, but here’s what you get with every suite…

The amazing list of Platinum suite standard amenities*:

-high speed internet

-42” flat screen tv (additional tv in bedroom)

-living room with convertible sofa

-customized entertainment options for tv, music, video,

Bose wave radio in living room, Mp3 enabled bedside radio/alarm clock

-Gourmet kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, ice-maker, appliances, and granite service top

-Double vanities, whirlpool tub for 2, and separate shower

-In room safe

-Pillow top mattresses

-Green-friendly (power saving) master room controls

-in room washer and dryer with detergent

**We will freely admit that after staying in the Princess suite, we (guys) all felt like kings! It was not only the walk-out balcony facing the strip, the clean, the spacious floor plan including walk-in closets, the double vanity bathroom with whirlpool tub, and the full-facility kitchen– but the added feature of a fireplace and a washer/dryer. Wow! Comfort, convenience, views, luxury and indulgence all in one.

“Yep, this was very well thought out,” we confirmed.

From our spacious balconies, we could look out to the strip, and down to overlook the pool area. The pool is vast, (adorned with comfy lounge chairs), that features a swim “through” to an indoor pool. How fun!

Steps away from the pool is the fitness room/workout center. This includes state of the art multi-position body-building machines, as well as a nice selection of cardio machines, tv’s and stretch areas.

Even if you are not fortunate enough to stay at the Platinum on your next visit, why not visit this fabulous, smoke free, non-gaming hotel for its Well spa offerings– described as a “refuge of elegance and intimacy”? Do check out the web site for the Platinum spa’s luxurious offerings.

Dining-  Don’t miss some great food, specialty cocktails and live music with super friendly bar service in the lounge nightly.

We ate one night in the lounge before heading to a show and our service was attentive, the setting comfortable (while we watched a sports playoff game) and we experienced generous food servings that rivaled some of the finest regional restaurants.

We have to give praise to the master chef in their kitchen– who transformed comfort foods and delicate seafood dishes into mouth-watering presentations that came hot, fresh and tasty to our table. Yum…

However, if you’re leaning toward privacy, the in-suite dining option (high level room service) will surprise you with a wide variety and competitive pricing. (see web site menu)

Oh, it must be mentioned — a well-kept secret is Platinum’s nightly Happy Hour, which offers half priced tapas, and half priced drinks from 4-8. Pool and lounge! (Check details on line).

There is a roof top room for meetings and small events that can be rented out with a great view of the strip.

Over all, we found every good reason to return to the Platinum on our next Vegas visit. We were treated very well, on a personal and professional level; They only have valet parking, which makes it easy to drop off and obtain your car.  Access to the strip and shows was simple; The suites were over the “top” in comfort, space, amenities and luxury.

Finally, the spa, pool, dining, breakfast selection, lounge, service, and overall atmosphere was eloquent and inviting for every guest and visitor, whether business of pleasure.

The spa was incredible. Todd experienced the hot-stone treatment followed by a great deep tissue massage that was Fantastic.  It is not super-crowded like other spas so you get more attention in a more intimate setting.

Why not consider the Platinum Hotel Las Vegas (211 E. Flamingo Rd. and (702) 365-5000) for your next personal or business visit? I can assure, your experience will be positive, affordable and memorable.
