Fine Dining at Porta Via in Beverly Hills -August 2007

Owner, Peter Garland, of Porta Via Bistro/Bar (located at 424 N. Canon/310-274-6534), has established this Italian Style Cuisine mixed with other flavors to bring a great place to the heart of Beverly Hills.  We recently dined there and found a great deal to choose from on the diversed menu.

From all types of salads, sandwiches, and fresh daily soups to start with, you are off to a great start.  House Specialties include Latini Spaghetti with a Tomato/Basil sauce; Grilled Chicken Paillard with herbs, vegetables and sticky rice; & Wild Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna.

We tried the Parmigiano Crusted Baked Halibut in a white wine sauce with mashed potatoes, and delicious fresh vegetables; and the special of the day- The Crispy Whitefish which was extemely moist and flavorful.  Other Entree options are assorted Pastas, Seafood(Grilled Salmon with Basmati Rice or Sesame Seeded Ahi Tuna, plus their famous Grilled Hamburger and Ribeye Steak(both served with french fries).

Porta Via is also opened for breakfast with a nice selection of egg dish preparations, assorted griddle cakes and french toast, fresh juices/smoothies/fruit, bakery items, and coffee drinks.  There is indoor and outdoor seating.  The food is top notch; Service is friendly and very good; and atmosphere is very comfortable.  Make sure to visit on your next stop in Beverly Hills.
