Jewish Federation Jam Night at the House of Blues – May 9th, 2002

May 9th, 2002 provided a great night of music and entertainment put on by The Jewish Federation.

The exciting "Jam Night" show at The House of Blues featured special musical guests Dave Koz, Shiela E, Kenny Aronoff, Don Was, Slash, Pete Escovedo, Jill Sobule, Evan and Jaron, and others performing some great sounds for the excellent turnout of people. Jam Night is an opportunity for music and entertainment industry professionals and executives to play music in a rock n’roll "fantasy camp" setting. Many of the proceeds go to restoring the Arts to Public Schools.

The Jewish Federation and United Jewish Fund programs survive on donations and work with many other Beneficiary Organizations, Charities, and Programs. Any contributions help out Jewish refugees arriving in the L.A. area and funds provide great help in many areas from: counseling, camp scholarships, money for food and clothing, legal aid, loans, advocacy, Jewish education, referrals, job training, and medical care. Other donations go to helping Israel in this time of crisis from all the suicide bombings and disasters happening over there at this time. Much needed funds go to families and people who are in need from recent tradegies. So far $8.5 million has been raised and the goal is $12 million, which would go to the crisis and trauma centers.
