Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo is a Must stop and stay next time you are in the area (8/07)
The Madonna Inn is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in—I’d be happy to LIVE in the Master Suite! It has a spacious master bedroom, a spacious second room with 2 queen sized beds, and a large enough third room with twin beds. My particular suite was a beatiful cottage with a really rustic feel to it. Besides the great bedrooms mentioned, it also had a spacious living room with a nice, open view bar, a large screen TV, and one of the world’s most comfortable sofas I have ever fallen asleep on (I almost didn’t wake up the entire night!).
I regretfully never had a chance to dine in their apparently world-class steakhouse (judging by the menu and reputation), but I did get a chance to use this steak house’s men’s room. This might not usually be the type of thing you’d expect to read about in a hotel review, but it was a very interesting bathroom, as it had a pseudo mountain side with a water fall instead of your typical urinal, and I’d highly recommend checking it out (it was almost like something you might find at Disneyland!) just for kicks.
The Inn is very popular for a variety of themed rooms with different decor and architecture. Feel free to get a tour of rooms when you visit besides enjoying whatever theme room you choose.
