Ojai Valley Inn & Spa review (3/10)

Ojai Valley Inn & Spa

When entering the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, one will feel delighted in the lush green grounds and spanish detailed architecture.  There are many delights to discover here including the herb garden, pool, kid’s pool, jacuzzi, golf course, tennis courts, fine restaurants and the well equipped spa.  The property is even pet friendly.  One will feel at home in a luxury surrounding with so many pleasurable offerings at their fingertips.
We stayed in a suite with a fireplace and private balcony overlooking the mass golf course.  It contained a living room and bedroom with a large bathroom filled with a sunken bathtub and the hotel’s fine amenities.  A basket of tangerines from the property awaited us on a table in the hallway.  The room was also well equipped with a flat screen tv, I pod player and internet access.  So one will feel like they are in a home away from home.
The dining offered has a wide range from casual to more intimate and romantic.  The Oak Grill is in a serene atmosphere: overlooking trees and the golf course.  The meals are healthy and hearty offering fresh salads, soups, sandwiches and fruits. Many of the ingredients comes from the garden within the property.  A lunch here can last hours as one will be so comfortable and there is a desire to sit and relax.
Maravilla is a fine restaurant offering a breakfast buffet on Sundays and amazing dinners.  Set in a spanish colonial interior, there is plenty of comfortable booth seats next to fireplaces and other tables to enjoy a fine meal.  Breakfasts include baked breads, organic eggs, fresh fruit, juices and smoothies.  Dinner includes seafood, meats and a fine wine list.  The banana flambe for desert is a must.  The staff is well informed, warm and and very professional.
The spa is feature not to be missed here.  There is a private pool and jacuzzi here, a steam room, sauna and several relaxing lounge areas.  The staff is also very helpful and warm.  There is also Cafe Verde which offers fresh salads, baked goods, sandwiches and fruit smoothies to enrapture your taste buds.  There is indoor and outside seating for your pleasure.  The separate massage rooms are quiet and delightful.  I had a Mother’s Massage which I strongly recommend if you are pregnant.  There is a special pillow and table so you can actually lay on your stomach which is a pure delight while being pregnant.  There are several other treatments offered from the special: Kuyam Room offering a a group setting of 8 women and men total and clay for the body and face with a meditation to follow.  This is the only type of treatment offered in the United States so it is a special gift.  There are many massages from deep tissue, swedish, relaxation, reflexology, "O" water therapy, and several facials and body treatments to choose from.
Even if you have a weekend, a stay at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa will feel like a remote long needed vacation.  One will feel revived and relaxed after a stay here.
