Ristorante Al Mare recently opened on the Santa Monica Pier- Worth the Visit- December 2013

Ristorante Al Mare

If you are looking for authentic Italian food with a great selection of seafood and other items, drop by the new restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier right next to the Merry Go Round called Ristorante Al Mare.

Rome – in the ancient capital of the seven hills four childhood friends were raised, educated and grew up together. They remained inseparable friends throughout their elementary and high school years, creating a bond as strong as any family. In fact, the four were closer than brothers then and remain so to this day.

They formed a partnership and opened their first restaurant. Since that initial successful endeavor, they’ve added several more, all offering excellent Italian cuisine, produced from quality ingredients and served in the family atmosphere they grew up with. Come by Ristorante Al Mare and you may just have an opportunity to meet them. The four are still together just like it’s always been. From our family to yours, we invite you to be our guests at Ristorante Al Mare so you too can enjoy our delicious meals served by the ocean. This stunning 3-story restaurant is known for its Italian cuisine and ocean views. The restaurant features a rooftop deck with full bar, 2nd floor balcony terraces, private dining room, and 1st floor exterior decks overlooking the Santa Monica Pier boardwalk and beautiful beaches.

The menu is diverse with the specialties definitely being past and seafood.  For appetizers, do not miss the shrimp, calamari and octopus salad along with one of their fabulous pizzas. We loved the Giacomo pizza with burrata cheese and basil.

They have an assortment of homemade pastas including gnocchi and egg spaghetti and linguine that are prepared many different ways. The lobster risotto was also very good but our favorite dish was the Branzino (fresh striped sea bass).  Other entrée selections include Mahi Mahi, salmon, chicken, short ribs, bone-in NY steak and pan seared beef filet. The tiramisu and gelato are the ways to go for dessert, as they are made in house.

This is a great place for a date, family outing or any other type of lunch or dinner.  They have a very large dining room inside but eat on the top deck especially if it is a nice day.  Location, phone number and website below but this is the new hot tip on the Westside for a great dining experience.
