Celebrations Worthy of “Maestro” Bernstein at Wallis

The evening features an intimate pre-show al fresco supper and cocktail reception on the Promenade Terrace beginning at 6pm, followed by the Opening Night performance of MAESTRO at 8pm. A post-show party set to music provided by Steinway & Sons Beverly Hills and featuring a special champagne toast with Felder will close the evening.

Additionally, Felder invites audiences to join him on Monday, August 22 at 8pm for a special one-night-only performance of Hershey Felder’s The Great American Songbook Sing-Along, taking audiences through 100 years of American music from the Gershwins, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and many more. The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents the final West Coast engagement of the critically-acclaimed Hershey Felder as Leonard Bernstein in MAESTRO from August 10 – 28. In MAESTRO, Felder channels the great composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, drawing audiences deeply into the maestro’s fascinating life, one filled with tragedy, triumph, and extraordinary music. The Wallis’ production marks the final West Coast engagement prior to a highly-anticipated transfer to New York City’s 59E59 Theatersfrom August 31 – October 16.

A few remaining single tickets for the Opening Night celebration are now on sale, ranging from $275 – $375 (including the pre and post-show receptions and performance). A very limited number of tickets to the performance and post-show party only (excluding the pre-show activities) have also just been made available, ranging from $55 – $75.

He pushed boundaries to become the world’s first serious musical media superstar and changed the face of music. In his inimitable style, Hershey Felder brings Bernstein to life through first-person narratives combined with the compositions of Bernstein, Beethoven, Mahler, Wagner, Copeland, and more.
