Culver City has a brand new very authentic restaurant featuring northern Italian cuisine.  It is called 10026  (Address of the restaurant is 10026 Venice Blvd) and they are opening an Italian market next door.  They are located in a small mini mall right off Venice blvd this charming cafe has very reasonable prices and delicious food. The owner Umberto is very hospitable and for many years has been importing high-end food products from Italy for restaurants throughout Los Angeles and now using family recipes to open his own charming restaurant.

We started with Ravioli al Tartufo prepared with ricotta cheese, spinach and a wonderful truffle cream sauce. And we also shared a terrific home-made Pesto Pizza.  For our main course we had Salmone Scottato, featuring Salmon with delicate potato cream, ginger and caramelized red onion. Along with Marano, a dish of fresh pasta with shrimp, zucchini, tomatoes, in a light shrimp bisque sauce.  That was our favorite dish and a pasta lovers delight.  The first day the restaurant opened they offered their neighbors a complimentary bowl of pasta bolognese which I tried and loved. It was exactly as I remember food from my trip to Florence and Venice Italy.

This is definitely worth the visit and they will be having their grand opening soon after they finalize their beer and wine license.  Until then, come enjoy some fantastic Italian food without breaking the bank.   They have some tasty desserts as well to finish off your nice dining experience including tiramisu and cheesecake.   More at Www.10026veniceblvd.com
