Chicago and REO Speedwagon tour including the Forum in LA on June 15th, 2018
REO Speedwagon opened the show and they have always been known as a great band to see live. Lead singer Kevin Cronin has the same energy now that he had 30 years ago. They were rockin out and The Forum crowd went nuts when they played some of their greatest hits such as Can’t Fight This Feeling, Take It on the Run, and Keep On Loving You. REO Speedwagon is an American rock band from Champaign, Illinois. Formed in 1967, the band cultivated a following during the 1970s and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s. Chicago has a brand new lead singer, Canadian Neil Donell. Chicago has been around for 50 years now. They still have a few original members that tour regularly: Robert Lamm, James Pankow and Lee Loughnane. Chicago’s music has stood the test of time. They are still drawing big crowds and delighting audiences after 50 years. People still love hearing all their big hits like Saturday in the Park, 25 or 6 to 4, If You Leave Me Now, You’re the Inspiration, Hard Habit to Break, Beginnings, and Just You ‘n’ Me, to name a few. Lead singer Peter Cetera left the band in approximately 1986 and went Solo. Jason Scheff was a great replacement and was in the band until approximately 2016. He was replaced by Jeff Coffey, who also was great. Coffey left at the beginning of this year and was replaced by new singer Neil Donell. The frontmen are the horn players led by James (Jimmy) Pankow, Lee Loughnane but the whole group alternates with leadmen, singers and talking to the audience.
Chicago played 2 long sets. They performed Chicago II it in its entirety for the first set and It’s being considered/eligible for Grammy Hall of Fame. Then after the intermission, the band came back and did many of their big numbers and greatest hits.
