LA Galaxy beat Columbus with big games by Alessandrini, Ibrahimovic, Kamara- July 2018
The LA galaxy took on the Columbus Crew at the Stub Hub Center in an important game to get back in the playoff hunt. It was also the first visit back to LA for Gyasi Zardes. He is having a great season with 11 goals in his first 19 games with his new team.
However the player he got traded for, Ola Kamara, scored the first goal of the game tipping in a great pass Ashley Cole after his nice run down the left side. The Crew had some chances early but never got on the score board. Ibrahimovic scored his 11th goal of the season in only 14 games onn a penalty kick after he was taken down in the box.
Midway through the second half, Kamara looked like he had a slight injury and was replaced by Alessandrini who immediately made his presents felt taking a pass in the middle and then making a great move out left for his patented strong left footed shot past tough goal tender Zack Steffen. He then scored again on a left footed blast to make the final score 4 to 0. Head coach Sigi Schmid was very happy with his teams effort he said the last two games when the team tied felt like losses.
