LAGUNA BEACH, CA — One of Southern California’s most beloved summer attractions, the Festival of Arts Fine Art Show, returns July 3 to August 30, 2024. Set in the vibrant arts destination of Laguna Beach, this annual event continues to captivate and inspire audiences with a stunning showcase of creativity and talent from local artists. In addition to the artwork on display, guests can enjoy daily live entertainment, art classes, special events, and more. Set in a beautiful open-air gallery, the Festival of Arts is a highly acclaimed juried fine art show featuring the work of over 100 award-winning Orange County artists. From paintings, glass, ceramics, photography and more, the Festival of Arts showcases a variety of mediums and artwork styles for avid collectors and festival goers to browse and purchase directly from the artists. Taking center stage at the Festival of Arts are the 120 exhibiting artists, showcasing their talents at the fine art show during its two-month summer season. This professionally juried art exhibit features a diverse selection of artwork, including paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and more, all crafted by artists from across Orange County. Since its inception in 1932, the Festival has served as a platform for thousands of artists to showcase and sell their creations, with many pieces finding their way into the private collections of esteemed art collectors, celebrities, and museums worldwide.

During its two-month summer season, the Festival of Arts hosts daily live concerts and a variety of
event series, sponsored by City of Hope Orange County and Yamaha. After making its debut at South
Coast Plaza, The Music of Hope continues at the Festival of Arts all summer long. City of Hope’s blue
“Hope” piano will be prominently featured on the Festival’s stage, honoring everyone whose lives have
been touched by cancer. As part of this partnership, the Festival introduces Spotlight on the Music of
Hope Blue Piano on select Saturday nights showcasing talented musicians who will enrich the lives of
community members through this uplifting concert series.
On Sunday, July 14, the ever-popular Family Art Day returns with an exciting new animal theme featuring creature-inspired art projects as well as furry and feathered special guests! For the adults, Art, Jazz, Wine and Chocolate (sponsored by Charles Schwab and Cambria Estate Winery) provides the perfect atmosphere to pair wine, chocolate, and smooth jazz amongst an unmatched gallery setting.

Join the Festival of Arts for a wild good time as Family Art Day returns on Sunday, July 14 with a fun new animal-twist! The Festival’s Art Center, sponsored by Bank of America, will be buzzing with wildlife-themed art activities including an animal anime clay sculpting class with Bowers Museum. Families will have the opportunity to meet feathered, furry and other fantastically fun critters from OC Reptile Zoo, Priceless Pets rescue, Raptor Events LLC, and the OC Beekeepers Association. You won’t want to miss Orange County Aerial Arts taking to the stage for a special aerial performance or the chance to get an airbrush tattoo- it’ll be a real hoot! Limited space available. Called “about the most fun one can have in a Los Angeles theater right now” (Maestro Arts & Reviews), Pacific Opera Project’s “The Mikado” updates Gilbert & Sullivan’s most popular operetta with Harajuku costumes, inspired by the district of Tokyo famous for its wild mix of colors and styles. Eye-popping colors, intricate choreography, and zany antics give this beloved classic a signature POP twist, while a reworked libretto is sure to surprise even Gilbert & Sullivan aficionados with its unique take on what was originally a thinly-veiled skewering of British nobility and politics. The Festival Runway Fashion Show is a not-to-be missed event! This event features Festival of Arts exhibitors who step out of their artistic medium and into the world of fashion. The result will blow your mind with over-the-top creative couture with the twist of all being made out of recycled, reused and reclaimed materials. Festival artists start months in advance in hopes of taking home the top prize and bragging rights. Patrons will be amazed by this fully produced runway show, including host and a panel of fashion experts.

ART WORKSHOPS FOR EVERYONE (Presented by Bank of America)

- Creativity runs wild at the Festival’s Teen and Adult Art Classes where students will make their own masterpieces under the instruction of professional artists. ($45)
- Uncork your creativity Thursday nights at Prints and Pinots or Friday nights at Paint and Sip Classes. Create a work of art with easy to follow instruction by Festival artists and enjoy complimentary wine or beverages. Must be 21 and up. ($50)
- Friday through Sunday, the Festival hosts Youth Art Classes, art classes for children ages 5 to 12. Classes include sculpture, mixed media, painting, and much more. ($25)
- The Festival Art Center will be open weekdays from 4pm to 8pm and weekends from 12noon to 8pm for hands-on artistic fun. Reservations not required, drop in anytime!
ART TOURS (Presented by PBS SoCal)
Free art tours are held Monday through Thursday at 4:30pm and Friday through Sunday at 12noon and 4:30pm. Meet the artists and learn firsthand about their techniques through discussions and artist demos.
SPECIAL EXHIBITS
- The Festival’s Junior Art Exhibition, sponsored in part by the FOA Foundation, California First Leasing Corporation and Mark Porterfield of Laguna Beach, comprises nearly 400 pieces of artwork from Orange County school children (grades PK to 12). The quality of art represented in the exhibit will astound art lovers of all ages.
- The Emerging Artists Exhibit provides a valuable opportunity for local college-level art programs in Orange County to showcase their students’ artworks and expose them to the workings of a world-class juried art festival.
- Support the arts by purchasing artwork from the Art-to-Go Exhibit themed “Art-To-Go, Head-To-Toe” donated by Festival artists with proceeds benefiting The Artists Fund at the Festival of Arts.
