The LA Clippers defeat the Miami Heat at the Intuit Dome in 1st game since the Ca. Wildfires- Jan. 2025

The LA Clippers took on Miami at the Intuit Dome on Jan. 13th.  The Heat started strong, building an early lead with impressive three-point shooting. Despite missing key players—Bam Adebayo, who was out with a back contusion, and Jimmy Butler, who is currently demanding a trade—Tyler Herro stepped up significantly. Herro led Miami with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists, while rookie center Kel’el Ware contributed a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

The Clippers overcame a slow start, turning the game around in the second half. Norman Powell spearheaded the offense with 29 points, and James Harden added a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists, hitting 6 of 10 from beyond the arc. Center Ivica Zubac dominated the paint, achieving a remarkable 21 points and 20 rebounds.  Fans roared as James Harden’s sharpshooting and Norman Powell’s dynamic offense led the Clippers to a hard-fought victory and Zubac collecting his 20th rebound in the final seconds.  Powell is playing superb and trying to make his first all star team this year.

Kawhi Leonard returned to the court after missing the previous game to be with his family during an evacuation caused by the Southern California wildfires. Leonard had a quiet night offensively, contributing just 6 points in limited minutes, but his presence provided a steadying influence for the team.

This victory marked the Clippers’ return to action following a brief hiatus due to the wildfires, which had led to the postponement of their previous home game. The win improved their season record to 21-17.

For the Clippers, the game highlighted the team’s depth and resilience as they look forward to building momentum in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Heat face ongoing challenges as they deal with Jimmy Butler’s trade demand and await the return of Bam Adebayo.
