LA Kings win games 1 & 2 vs Rival Edmonton in the Playoffs- April 2025

Game 1: Kings 6, Oilers 5 – A Thrilling Back-and-Forth Battle

In a game that had fans on the edge of their seats, the Los Angeles Kings edged out the Edmonton Oilers 6-5 in a thrilling Game 1. The Kings established an early 4-0  lead, but the Oilers mounted a fierce comeback, tying the game late in regulation with McDavid flying down the right wing and scoring. Just when it seemed like the game might head into overtime, Phillip Danault scored a clutch goal, securing the win for the Kings and giving them a 1-0 series lead.  What an emotional roller coaster for both teams and a HUGE win for the Kings who have lost the last 3 yrs to Edmonton in the playoffs. This looks to be the Kings year with some new key players that have great experience including Foegele, Edmundson and Kuemper . Plus the maturity and great seasons by key players Kempe, Fiala and late addition Kuzmenko at the trade deadline.

🏒 Game 2: Kings 6, Oilers 2 – Dominant Performance

The Kings came out strong in Game 2, delivering a commanding 6-2 victory over the Oilers. Adrian Kempe led the charge with two goals and two assists, while captain Anze Kopitar contributed a goal and three assists. Andrei Kuzmenko, Quinton Byfield, and Brandt Clarke also found the back of the net, showcasing the depth of the Kings’ offense. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves, solidifying the Kings’ strong performance. The Oilers pulled their goalie Sinner in the third period as the Kings continued to dominate, with fans chanting Sinner’s name throughout both games one and two.  The Oilers became unraveled and took some bad penalties.
