City Cruises (formerly Hornblower) – Marina del Rey Dinner Cruise
We recently enjoyed a 2½-hour dinner cruise with City Cruises out of Marina del Rey (formerly Hornblower), and the entire experience was wonderful. After checking in, we headed upstairs to a beautifully arranged dining area where we were greeted by our server Keri — friendly, attentive, and truly professional throughout the evening.
Food & Service
We began with two appetizers: the seared Ahi tuna and a classic shrimp cocktail, both fresh and well presented. For starters, we shared the Apple, mixed greens & feta salad along with a flavorful seafood chowder.
For our entrée, we chose the salmon served with potatoes and squash — tasty and nicely prepared. Dessert was also included, and we tried both the Basque cheesecake and the fresh fruit plate, each a pleasant finish to the meal.
Entertainment & Ambiance
DJ Kelly kept the evening upbeat with great music and took requests, adding a fun and personal touch. After dinner, we headed to the top deck, where the weather was comfortable enough to fully enjoy the marina’s sparkling views and fresh nighttime air.
Overall Impression
City Cruises continues the strong reputation of Hornblower, offering an elegant dining experience on the water with quality food, excellent service, and beautiful scenery. It’s a memorable choice for a date night, celebration, or a relaxing evening with friends.
