Salt Restaurant and Bar at the Marina del Rey Hotel is worth the fabulous dining experience- March 2026
There are places you go for a meal… and then there are places you go for a moment. SALT Restaurant & Bar is truly the second kind.
From the second we arrived, with the marina stretching out in front of us and that soft coastal light reflecting on the water, everything just felt easy—elevated without trying too hard. The atmosphere is intimate but still vibrant, the kind of place where you can settle in for hours without noticing time passing. Between the outdoor warmth, the flicker of the firepit, and the gentle buzz of conversation, it creates a perfect balance of energy and calm.
But what really made the evening unforgettable was the service. Javier took care of us, and honestly, it’s rare to experience that level of attention. He was impeccable—present without ever being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail was just right. It felt personal, not transactional, and that makes all the difference.
We started with cocktails, and they set the tone immediately. The BANANAAA was playful yet perfectly balanced—tropical, fresh, and dangerously easy to drink. The Garrison Brothers SB Old Fashioned was the opposite in the best way: deep, smooth, and beautifully crafted. I also went for the 400 Conejos mezcal, and their spirits selection is honestly impressive—one of those lists you could explore again and again.
Then the food started comin and it didn’t miss once.
The avocado hummus was unexpectedly addictive—creamy, rich, and paired perfectly with the grilled pita and fresh vegetables. The king crab legs and Maine lobster cocktail were incredibly fresh and indulgent, the kind of dishes that remind you why simple seafood, when done right, is unbeatable.
The burrata caprese was layered with flavor—sweet heirloom tomatoes, creamy cheese, a touch of chili oil, and that aged balsamic bringing everything together. And the New England clam chowder? Comforting, rich, with just the right hint of bacon.
But the standout starters were the blackened lamb lollipops—absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and paired with that tzatziki and roasted peppers… easily one of the highlights of the night.
For the mains, the branzino was beautifully executed—light, flaky, and enhanced by that bright vierge sauce. The seared ahi tuna had that perfect balance of spice and freshness, with the avocado and ponzu tying it all together. And the pommes purée… silky, buttery, and impossible to stop eating.
By the time dessert came, we thought we were done—but the Basque burnt cheesecake proved us wrong. Rich yet somehow light, paired with berries and saba—it was the perfect ending. And of course, an espresso martini to close the night, smooth and just strong enough to keep the conversation going a little longer.
What makes this place special isn’t just the food—though it’s undeniably exceptional. It’s the way everything comes together: the view, the atmosphere, the care in the service, the creativity in every plate and glass.
It feels intimate, a little romantic, and genuinely memorable.
This wasn’t just dinner—it was an experience we’ll be thinking about for a long time.
