If you’re wearing socks, they’ll be knocked off by Diavolo Dance Theater, an internationally renowned modern dance company of dancers, gymnasts, acrobats, and athletes. Influenced by the documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys, their kinetic new piece Transit Space explores themes of loss and community while using skate ramps and half-pipes as set pieces to represent the urban environment in this California premiere. Under Artistic Director Jacques Heim, fourteen performers leap, fly, and spin with power, elegance, and a thrill of danger.
