School on Wheels Fundraiser in Manhattan Beach on Nov. 12th supporting homeless youth- Preview, Tickets

Local nonprofit that supports homeless youth School on Wheels to host a fundraising event in Manhattan Beach on Friday, November 12, at the Westdrift Hotel

School on Wheels, a nonprofit that provides free mentoring and tutoring for thousands of homeless youth in grades K-12th across Southern California, will host a pop-art fundraiser on Friday, November 12, 7 p.m. at the Westdrift Hotel in Manhattan Beach. The fundraiser’s theme “Welcome to the Factory” will feature live art from muralist and activist MB Hanrahan and portrait artist Cristina Tudor.

“We love the Manhattan Beach community. They show up for us year after year to both raise much-needed funds and provide tutors,” Sinead Chilton, Chief Development and Marketing Officer. “It’s an incredible community that really opens their hearts to children devastated by homelessness. This will be the 5th year that the community has rallied to support us.”

MB Hanrahan will be creating a one-of-a-kind painting over the course of the evening, which will then be part of a live auction and Cristina Tudor will be speed sketching guests.  100% of the sale of the artists’ work will go to support the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness.

“I am so excited to be part of this event,” says artist MB Hanrahan. “Education is so important to me and School on Wheels is an amazing local charity making a difference in the lives of kids devastated by homelessness.”

School on Wheels’ goal for 2021 is to match 2,000 students with an online tutor. You can support their efforts by applying to be a volunteer tutor or donating to their organization.  Ninety-two cents of every dollar goes directly to their program to provide educational support and mentoring to kids living in homeless situations.

School on Wheels works with thousands of children living in shelters, motels, vehicles, group foster homes, and the streets of Southern California. Over the past 28 years, they have served more than 50,000 students.

Kick off the holiday season and join the Manhattan Beach community for this amazing one-of-a-kind event. The event will feature, dinner, drinks and dancing. Tickets are limited and can be purchased here.
