LA Kings defeat the Winnipeg Jets who have been the NHL’s best record & goalie- Nov 2024
LA Kings are coming off an embarrassing loss of San Jose Sharks and returned home to Crypto.com arena versus the best team in the NHL this year the Winnipeg Jets. The Kings came out firing with a lot of energy and scored in the first period with a goal from Anze Kopitar and assisted by Alex Laferriere. LA made it to 2-0 as Phillip Danault put the pressure on and came in alone versus the NHL‘s best goalie Connor Hellebuyck and kept fighting the puck and then off a rebound put it in the net. Winnipeg got the board with a power play goal from ex King Gabe Vilardi heading into the 3rd period. Kevin Fiala scored in the 3rd to make it 3-1 and Adrian Kempe finished the visitors off with an empty net goal. Overall the team played great and took advantage of some mistakes and were excellent on defense. Danualt was the #1 star of the game.
The Jets have been the most surprising team in the NHL and undefeated at home, but they didn’t look too sharp vs LA and were outplayed. Another former came Rasmus Kupari was awarded a penalty shot but King’s goalie David Rittich blocked it. Another former player Alex Iafallo played but didn’t factor too much. The top 2 scorers Mark Scheifele and Kyle Conner were shut down.
