Tujague’s Restaurant is an absolute gem in the heart of the French Quarter, steeped in history since 1856. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the attentive and classy staff, who clearly know their craft. The service was impeccable throughout.

I started with the Decatur Sour cocktail—a perfectly balanced mix of bourbon, cranberry, lemon, and sugar. For starters, we tried the baked oysters with cornbread and tasso ham stuffing, which were nothing short of incredible, as well as the flavorful gumbo soup. Both dishes set the tone for an exceptional meal.

For the main course, we enjoyed the gulf fish paired with broccoli, basil tomato concassé, and a luscious sauce beurre blanc. The dish was light yet rich in flavor, complemented beautifully by a glass of sparkling Tujague’s private label “Blanc de Blancs.”

To finish, we indulged in two outstanding desserts: the chocolate pot de crème with chantilly cream and chocolate shavings, and the pecan praline bread pudding. Both were decadent and delicious, the perfect end to our meal.

Special mention goes to our host, Dave Wiltz, whose knowledge and guidance with the wine selection made our evening even more enjoyable. The ambiance was charming, the service was top-notch, and the experience as a whole was unforgettable. Tujague’s truly lives up to its reputation as a French Quarter institution. Highly recommended!    https://tujaguesrestaurant.com/

Birdys-Nestled in an up-and-coming area just off the charming Garden District on Magazine Street, this restaurant offers a delightful experience that blends warmth, flavor, and ambiance. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

Our visit began with two fantastic drinks: a refreshing hibiscus tea and the Birdy’s Bellini, a delightful mix of Benvolio Prosecco and peach. Both were the perfect way to start our meal.

For our main dishes, we indulged in two incredible options. The Brunch Board was a shareable masterpiece of sweet and savory delights, featuring grilled bacon, savory prosciutto, creamy triple cream Brie, soft-boiled eggs, waffles, mini donuts, mini pancakes, fresh fruits, cookies, seasonal jam, and a crunchy granola with nuts. Every bite was a delightful contrast of flavors and textures.

We also enjoyed the Pulled Pork Hash Bowl, a hearty combination of forever-braised pork, creamy pimento spread, crispy hash potatoes, perfectly poached eggs, and a luscious hollandaise sauce. It was rich, flavorful, and satisfying.

To balance the meal, we added the Southern Waldorf Salad, which combined diced apples, sliced red grapes, crunchy pecans, tart dried cherries, and a sweet sugarcane dressing over fresh mixed greens. The salad was light yet full of flavor, a perfect complement to the richness of the other dishes.

Overall, this restaurant is a true gem. From the creative menu to the warm service and inviting atmosphere, it’s a must-visit spot in this vibrant neighborhood. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed brunch or simply looking to enjoy great drinks and food, this place delivers a memorable experience.     https://birdysnola.com/

Our visit to the Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of the French Quarter was an all-around fantastic experience. The vibrant atmosphere, paired with a great music selection, immediately puts you at ease and adds to the fun vibe of the place.

One of the highlights was exploring their impressive collection of celebrity-owned guitars, clothing, and accessories. It’s like walking through a mini rock ‘n’ roll museum, adding a unique touch to the dining experience.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, making it a perfect spot for families and friends. We tried the Southwestern Chicken Bowl, and it did not disappoint. It was not only delicious but also a healthy option, which we really appreciated.

A special shout-out to Shane, the manager, who was our host for the evening. His friendliness and attentiveness truly enhanced our visit, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.

Whether you’re a music lover, a foodie, or just looking for a great spot to hang out in the French Quarter, the Hard Rock Cafe delivers on all fronts. We’ll definitely be back!    https://cafe.hardrock.com/new-orleans/
