THE WALLIS, BEVERLY HILLS CULTURAL GEM

BRAM GOLDSMITH THEATER
THE WALLIS, BEVERLY HILLS CULTURAL GEM
by Jeff Zimerman – April 8, 2025
Recently I paid my first visit to The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, commonly known as The Wallis in Beverly Hills. I was amazed by the quality of the performance, and the beauty of the theatre. Housed in the historic 1934 Beverly Hills Post Office, the center masterfully combines classic and modern architectural elements. The restoration preserved original features like the eight towering fresco murals, offering visitors a glimpse into the building’s rich history.

I saw an excellent performance of “Here There Are Blueberries,” a play exploring the Holocaust through the lens of a photo album. The audience found the play very powerful with it’s unflinching portrayal of the subject matter. The acting and the play’s overall quality were outstanding.

The Wallis intimate atmosphere and exceptional acoustics is a great place to see a performance. With a seating capacity of 500 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater, every seat provides an excellent view of performances. The venue also houses the 150-seat Lovelace Studio Theater. The staff were very professional, polite and helpful to us first timers.

The Wallis offers a variety of performances, from theatrical productions to musical concerts. In summary, The Wallis stands out as a premier destination for cultural in Beverly Hills, offering a blend of historical charm, modern facilities, and top quality performances. I will definitely be back. They are located at 9390 N Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
