AVP Manhattan Beach Open to feature U.S. Olympians and final California appearance of Hall of Famer
Phil Dalhausser as pro beach volleyball returns to the pier August 14-17

“Walk of Fame” pier ceremony honoring 2024 Manhattan Beach Open champions set for Thursday afternoon

The AVP Manhattan Beach Open, widely celebrated as the “Grandaddy of Them All,” returns to the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier Thursday, August 14 through Sunday, August 17. The historic event will showcase the pinnacle of beach volleyball talent, featuring defending champions Taryn Kloth/Kristen Nuss (2024 Olympians) and Theo Brunner/Trevor Crabb, as well as the second-to-last AVP event for legendary International Volleyball Hall of Famer, 2008 Olympic gold medalist and four-time Olympian Phil Dalhausser.

The Manhattan Beach Open will kick off with a qualifier on Thursday, followed by the main draw competition Friday through Sunday.

In addition to the matches, the AVP will host the Walk of Fame Ceremony, an annual unveiling of plaques honoring last year’s Manhattan Beach Open winners, on Thursday, August 14 at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Each year’s plaques are installed on the pier to honor the winners of the longest-running and most prestigious professional beach volleyball tournament in the country, with plaques dating back to the early 1960s. This year’s ceremony will honor 2024 champions Taryn Kloth, Kristen Nuss, Theo Brunner, and Trevor Crabb. The red-carpet ceremony will take place at the Manhattan Beach Pier and is open to the public.
