A wonderful stay at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa

We had a wonderful experience at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which really added to the feeling of being on vacation in paradise.

Our room was extremely comfortable, spacious, and very well equipped, with a beautiful bathroom and plenty of space to relax. We especially loved the private patio area with direct access to the tropical gardens and the little beach. It was such a pleasure to step outside and immediately be surrounded by nature.

The location is also excellent, especially when arriving or leaving Tahiti. The resort is only about 15 minutes from the main airport where you fly into, yet once you are inside, it feels completely removed from the airport and surrounded by lush gardens and the lagoon.

Breakfast was included and it was excellent. The buffet offered a wonderful variety of fresh food, including made-to-order omelets, fresh fruit, salads, pastries, beverages, and delicious Polynesian specialties. There was plenty of choice every morning.

The swimming pools are beautiful and very well situated. There are actually two large infinity pools, including one with a swim-up bar, and we loved how easy it was to relax.

One of our favorite features was the access to the lagoon and the Lagoonarium, where you can see an incredible variety of colorful tropical fish. The resort’s natural aquarium is home to more than 200 aquatic species and also focuses on marine conservation, making it both beautiful and educational.

There is also so much to enjoy around the property: beautiful tropical gardens, walking areas, a fitness center, spa, water activities, excursions, and even Polynesian cultural demonstrations. The resort’s gardens include a botanical and birdwatching trail, Tahitian vanilla and pineapple plants, and beehives.

 

For an extra special experience, the resort also offers beautiful overwater bungalows, as well as Le Lotus, an elegant overwater restaurant overlooking the lagoon.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The combination of comfortable accommodations, beautiful surroundings, welcoming service, great amenities, and easy access to the lagoon makes this a wonderful resort for both families and couples. It is also a fantastic place to start or finish a trip through French Polynesia.

If you’re visiting Bora Bora, one experience I highly recommend is dining at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Le Moana. You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to enjoy the dining experience, making it a wonderful option for visitors who want to experience the resort without booking a room.

The dinner and show is especially memorable. The evening combines a delicious buffet with an entertaining Polynesian performance featuring traditional Tahitian music and dance. Depending on the theme night, guests may also enjoy a spectacular fire dance. It’s a wonderful way to experience a little of the local culture while enjoying dinner in a beautiful island setting.

The dinner buffet offers an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes, including fresh salads, side dishes, vegetables, seafood and other island-inspired selections, followed by a tempting assortment of desserts and fresh tropical fruit. One of the highlights is watching the chef prepare your choice of chicken, beef, or fish right in front of you, adding a fun and personal touch to the meal.

And then there’s the show! The talented local performers bring the Polynesian spirit to life through traditional Tahitian dancing, music and drumming. It creates an energetic and festive atmosphere that makes the entire evening feel like more than just dinner—it becomes an experience you won’t soon forget.

Reservations are highly recommended to make sure you have a seat, particularly for the popular themed dinner evenings. I would definitely plan ahead rather than arriving without a reservation.

Don’t Miss Breakfast

The breakfast at the InterContinental is another experience worth mentioning. The buffet is beautifully presented and offers something for just about everyone.

You’ll find crêpes, waffles and French toast, along with a made-to-order omelette station where the chefs prepare your eggs just the way you like them. There are also all the traditional breakfast favorites, plus fresh tropical fruit, cereals, yogurt, breads, pastries and much more.

And don’t miss the homemade jams! They’re a delicious little highlight and the perfect addition to the fresh bread and pastries.

Whether you come for the themed dinner and Polynesian show or simply want to enjoy a beautiful breakfast surrounded by the spectacular scenery of Bora Bora, the InterContinental offers a dining experience that is truly worth adding to your itinerary.

It’s the kind of place where the food, entertainment, atmosphere and incredible island setting all come together to create a very special Bora Bora memory.
