Simpang Indonesian Restaurant in Venice- Amazing, Delicious & a Must Visit- Sept 2026
A Wonderful Indonesian Dining Experience in Venice
Indonesian Simpang in Venice is such a fun and memorable restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with eclectic décor and beautifully dim, intimate lighting that makes the space feel both stylish and relaxed.
Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, and his recommendations were spot-on. We decided to share several dishes, which was definitely the way to go because everything was so flavorful and different.
We started with the Roti Paratha, a flaky, buttery flatbread served with a house curry sauce — simple, comforting, and delicious. The Chicken Sate was one of our favorites: homemade grilled chicken skewers with a rich, flavorful peanut sauce. Absolutely unbelievable!
The Beef Rendang was incredibly tender, slow-braised for six hours in coconut milk and aromatic spices, and served with chickpeas and flatbread. The Woku Branzino was grilled perfectly, infused with basil and a bold blend of spices, with just the right amount of heat and plenty of fresh flavor.
The Beef Ribs Underground were another standout — slow-cooked until tender and deeply savory, with their house-made BBQ sauce.
The Seabass Dabu is a beautiful expression of bright, vibrant Indonesian flavors. The tender sea bass is paired with a fresh, zesty dabu-style sauce that brings a lively combination of herbs, citrus, and spice to the delicate fish. Every bite feels light and refreshing, yet full of character.
The lobster is equally memorable, cooked in a fragrant green curry with crisp asparagus. The creamy, aromatic curry brings a gentle warmth and layers of Southeast Asian spice, while the naturally sweet, succulent lobster adds richness to the dish. The asparagus provides a fresh, slightly crisp contrast, making the combination both indulgent and beautifully balanced.
Together, the dishes capture what makes Simpang Venice so distinctive—fresh seafood elevated with bold Indonesian-inspired flavors, vibrant herbs, spice, and beautifully aromatic sauces.
For noodles, we tried both the Singapore Street Noodle, with chicken, shrimp, chicken sausage, vegetables and fragrant curry flavors, and the Pad Thai, Simpang’s version with flat rice noodles, chicken, eggs and peanuts. Both were packed with flavor.
And then came dessert… which was almost impossible to choose from! We shared the Mango Sticky Rice, Black Rice Pudding with creamy vanilla ice cream, and a Cheesecake with homemade kaya coconut custard. The Martabak Manis, an Indonesian-style sweet pancake topped with chocolate sprinkles, cheese, peanuts, sesame seeds and condensed milk, was such a fun and indulgent way to finish the meal.
The restaurant also has a great selection of sake, including Kubota Junmai Ginjo Nigori and Suivi Harmony, which were wonderful choices to enjoy alongside the food.
We also enjoyed the Sangria, made with soju, apple, cherry and orange juice, and red wine — a unique and delicious twist.
Overall, Indonesian Simpang is a place where you can really have fun with food. Bold flavors, generous dishes, friendly service and a great atmosphere make it a wonderful spot to share a meal with friends or family. We loved discovering all the different flavors and would definitely come back to try more of the menu! More at https://www.simpangasia.com/simpang-venice
