Despite some of the teams key players out with injuries including forwards Pavel Demitra, Jeremy Roenick, Eric Belanger and defensemen Aaron Miller and Lubomir Visnovsky the Kings have been forced into using their youngsters from their minor league affiliate in Manchester. Notes:
Alex Frolov missed his first game of the season with what were reported as flu symptoms. Mathieu Garon, who has been one of the main reasons for the Kings early success this year, had to leave in the first period after being hit in the shoulder with a shot. It is not known at this time the severity of the injury but it seems like he will back soon… Jason LaBarbera replaced Garon. Roenick plans to be back in about 2 weeks and has been conditioning quite well. He has lost 15 lbs and eager to get back. He was on the sidelines during the game dancing and cheering on his mates on his Birthday. Former King Ziggy Palffy of the Pittsburgh Penguins just announced his retirement. His team has been struggling all season and his shoulder that was injured the year before last with the Kings has just not recovered.
