Outrigger has condos throughout Hawaii, Guam, Fiji and Australia. We were fortunate enough to experience another Outrigger property while on Maui. We spent two nights at Outrigger Palms at Wailea.

Wailea is a quiet, beautiful spot nestled on the southern part of the Island. The beaches here are beautiful and not crowded. Outrigger Palms at Wailea condos sit hillside overlooking the ocean, creating a feeling of privacy. The grounds are perfectly manicured and feature over a hundred varieties of palm trees. The condos are spacious with full kitchens, large sunken living rooms, big master bedrooms, porch style balconies and washers and dryers. Our condo had only one bedroom, yet it felt roomy enough to house a family. There were two bathrooms and a lot of space for entertaining guests. The complex has a lovely pool and whirlpool hot tub. Families staying three nights or more at Outrigger Palms at Wailea are given the Outrigger’s Island Explorer program. It is a free kit designed to get kids and their parents out discovering Hawaii’s unique natural environment. In the kit are directions on how to conduct ecologically-safe explorations, how to determine wind directions, check tide changes and surf conditions, read cloud formations, and identify the myriad of nature’s gifts that wash up along the shoreline. Children will also learn how to prepare for a hike, chart a map, and recognize the animals living in Hawaiian rainforests. This is a great way for children traveling during the school year to enjoy their vacation while learning away from the classroom. The staff at Outrigger Palms at Wailea is extremely helpful and ready to serve. We had a technical problem on our first night and the general manager himself showed up late at night to solve the problem. Now that’s service!
If you enjoy shopping, Outrigger Palms is just a short walk from The Shops at Wailea. Here you will find designer fashion, art galleries and fine dinning establishments.
Just up the hill from Outrigger Palms is The Wailea Golf and Tennis Club. If tennis is your thing we recommend checking out www.waileagolf.com/index.php?linksid=30 to reserve a court. The complex features eleven- Plexipave courts, including three lit for night play. We played on their stadium court that can accommodate up to a thousand spectators. Unfortunately, we had no fans that day. The staff is extremely hospitable, helpful and professional.
