LA Galaxy lose tough game to NY Red Bulls as Ibrahimovic contributes to 2 goals- April 2018
The NY Red Bulls defeated the LA Galaxy 3 to 2 in front of a large enthusiastic crowd at the Stubhub Center. It was a well played, hard fought match between two very skilled teams.
The Red Bulls struck first right away on a dangerous cross to the back post that threaded the defense and was tapped in by Daniel Roya in the 7th minute. The Galaxy responded right away with a goal by Roman Alessandrini, but it was called back due to an offside call.
The Red Bulls took a 2-0 lead when Bradley Wright-Phillips crossed another ball into the box which was buried by the streaking Valot in the 49th minute.
The Galaxy came charging back with a goal by Karmara in the 59th minute by a beautifully threaded ball to the top of the box by Ibrahimovic. Seven minutes later, Ibrahimovic took a corner kick that was headed down by Romney into traffic which was controlled and immediately kicked low to the left corner by Giovani dos Santos.
In the 83rd minute a cross along the end line hit the arm of a sliding Romney trying to attempt to block the cross. A penalty kick was called and Romero pounded into the left corner past the outstretched arms of the keeper. Written by Todd Elliot, Photos by Jim Vatcher. More at www.lagalaxy.com/
