Cirque du Soleil’s show “O” and other attractions at the Bellagio in Las Vegas – November 7th, 2003

As if you are in a dream, "O" makes you forget about the realities of life for a few hours. Although there is an actual story, your mind stays in the present mode in a dream-like state watching the many different characters perform.

From the beginning of the show, the humor starts with the clowns exchanging laughs with the audience. Since the theme of the show encompasses water, the audience gets a taste of actual water in the pre-show as the clowns delve into the audience, who participate dumping buckets of water and holding umbrellas.

These instances set the mood of laughter, relaxing and forgetting during the rest of the show.

"O" will make one feel as if you are in a mystical and fairytale like state. Your mind rushes around to find your surroundings very surreal filled with ballerinas, newlyweds, water creatures, fire, gymnists, acrobats, and of course, the clowns. Dancing and diving in and out of the land of water takes your breath away. The gymnists swinging, twisting, and twirling in the air will bring butterflies to your stomach. The water nymphs are beautifully synchronized as they splash, tumble, dive, and dance in the pool of mystery. This show keeps your mind going not knowing where or when the next creature will emerge.

The sets are empowering and magical as they vanish and shoot across the stage. There is a light-airy calmness you feel as you watch the red drapes appear and disappear in a graceful manner. The vision of women standing in the rain with their umbrellas in front of huge blockades of whiteness is a beautiful sight to the eye.

Overall, "O" is a surreal, light , and beautiful show to watch. It is unlike any other Cirque du Solei show you will see as the atmosphere and scenery are vastly different and the water-based theme makes this event truely unique. When visiting Las Vegas, one must experience the Bellagio and the on-going show "O". It is a worthwhile and unforgettable experience. For tickets, please call (888)488-7111.
