Fine Dining at “The Grill” in New Orleans at the Fabulous Windsor Court Hotel (5/05)

The Windsor Court Hotel is conveniently located near the French Quarter and nearby the waterfront with exceptional service, decor and rooms.  This Hotel is Prime if you are looking for a very nice place to stay on your next visit.  The Lobby is spectacular with beautiful furnishings and great concierage service.  Many ammenties such as an overflowing outdoor lap pool and jacuzzi with a view of the city; a great full workout room with changing areas; Meeting Rooms and a great Restaurant that is very highly rated called "The Grill".

relaxing lunch. Tables tucked in window nooks look
down to the trees and courtyard below give the room a
light and airy feel.

You are first started with an “amuse bouche” or palate
teaser.  In this case it was a small glass of cold
potato and leek soup.  The palate teaser will change
from day to day depending on the chefs mood and what
fresh ingredients are available.

There is a wide array of appetizers to choose from
like seared peppered tuna loin, fried oysters, baked
oysters, foie gras, turtle soup or the delicious
seafood gumbo which are poured at the table.

There are plenty of healthy fresh salads to choose
from and you can add grilled chicken, shrimp or crab
to any of them.  One of their unique sandwiches are a
perfect accompaniment to any salad.  Try the Croque
Monsieur which is filled with smoked ham, gruyere
cheese and grain mustard.  There is also a hot roast
beef au jus or a grilled chicken, avocado and pancetta
sandwich to sink your teeth into.

For more exciting fare you can try some of the unique
entrees like the jumbo lump crab cakes.  They are so
light, and non greasy they might even be good for you!
The roasted rib of lamb is cooked to perfection and
sure to satisfy.  There is also aged prime strip with
a cabernet sauvignon sauce, bouillabaisse, or fish and
chips!  Executive Chef Jonathan Wright hails from
England and brought a little “home” to share with the
good folks and visitors of New Orleans.

Ask for the bread pudding even if it’s not on the
menu.  It will be the highlight of your great meal!
