The Vagina Monologues are still going Eve Ensler’s creative invention of the Vagina Monologues is completing a West Coast Tour having just stopped at the beautiful Thousand Oaks Civic Plaza. The next stop is the Long Beach Performing Arts Center before finishing at the Alex Theater in Glendale.

The show is Directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, and features a trio of rotating female actors for every show. This show is not for the easily embarrased and is very open and candid about what factually happens with women and their main private part(The Vagina).

The show started in New York and has been going strong for almost 4 years now touring all over. The night i covered the play, Erin Brockovich, Gretchen Lee Krich, and Joyce Lee were the cast members. A very entertaining 90 minutes encompasses just about everything there is to know or need to know about the Vagina. What happens at certain times, what the Vagina likes and doesn’t like, what many nicknames are used for it, and what men and women think about them. Eve Ensler, who created the play has talked to thousands of women over the years to get more knowledge and opinions to get as specific as you will ever hear, especially about the Vagina. Ms. Ensler can be seen performing in the Vagina Monologues in an upcoming released HBO Movie. This play is translated in 22 different languages and running and touring all over the world, including 3 sold out years at Off- Broadway’s Westside Theater and on London’s West End.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the V-Day Fund, which is a movement to end violence towards women. V-Day is involved with cultural events to raise awareness and money for existing organizations and foundations.
