Touring the Amazon in Brazil at the Fabulous Ariau Towers

On your next visit to Brazil, I suggest making a tour out to The Amazon and especially The Ariau Towers Hotel.  It is the largest Jungle Lodge in the Amazon and includes packages of 1-4 days. However, since you have to come a long way, I recommend staying for 3-4 days to get the maximum out of this fabulous experience.   Packages include all you can eat buffet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner;  An incredible Jungle Hike with you own Tour Guide to explain all the details and safety & survival tips; Piranha Fishing during an afternoon using meat as bait while you are in your little canoes with your driver and guide; visiting some of the natives at their homes and seeing their environment while you snack on nuts and energy drinks they provide; and my favorite was alligator spotting in the dark evening(in which one of our guides actually jumped into the water to pull out a small alligator by his neck using just a spotlight and his hands.  That was very exciting).

After flying into Manaus City, you take a Ferry for about 2 and a half hours till you arrive at the Towers.  You are greeted by the workers and taken to your rooms.  I suggest reserving one of their beautiful treetop suites overlooking the village and towers. It comes fully equipped with Internet, TV and all amenities. The atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful colored birds making noises and little cute monkeys walking around waiting to be given some food.  Take some bananas down that way and you will make some friends fast.  There are a variety of excursions such as helicopter flights; canoe rentals; meeting of the waters; and other island visits also available.

Make sure to bring plenty of mosquito spray and plan to stay at least 3 days as the Ferry Boat back to Manaus leaves at certain times and it is possible to miss out on activities if you don’t stay long enough.  For more information, please visit their informative website with video footage at   www.ariau.tur.br        email is [email protected]   and toll free phone number when you are in Brazil at 0800 702-5005
