(Los Angeles, CA) (April, 2007)… Executive Producer Lawrin Goulston Salazar proudly announces the launching of The Annual Los Angeles Comedy Festival, coming to the McCadden Place Theatre in Hollywood from May 10 to 20, 2007. Tickets are $12 for all performances. Festival passes are available.
The Birth of a Festival
Lawrin Goulston Salazar has successfully produced all five of The Annual LA Fest of Sketch Comedy (LAFS). She had long envisioned starting a second, sister festival that embraced all forms of comedy. Beamed Goulston Salazar:
“I felt the time was right to start this festival. My sketch comedy festival has grown into the second-largest festival of its kind, with many groups going onto network development deals. One, Summer of Tears, went on to win the Jury Award at the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen this year.”
“Over the years, I’ve had many standup comedians and improv performers approach me wanting to be part of LAFS. It never made sense to me that LA, with all of its talent and industry, didn’t have a comedy festival. So I plunged in.”
“I received an avalanche of submissions from around the country. Los Angeles is in for a comedic feast!”
