“Genesis” led by Phil Collins, rocks the Hollywood Bowl despite rain pouring down (10/07)

The Hollywood Bowls has got to be one of the greatest venues ever to experience a concert. Set amongst the hills, trees and stars (both celestial and human) of Hollywood, CA, the Hollywood Bowl attracts the best bands and musicians from around the world. Every great act has played the Hollywood Bowl at one time or another. Sitting in the Garden Boxes, just above the floor, is an experience everyone should have at least once in their life. With just four seats per box you feel like you are in your own little world as the musicians look larger than life just yards in front of you. Enjoy a bottle of your favorite wine, some cheese and fruit and you have the makings for a magical evening. phil collins pic.jpg On the night of Oct. 12th, Genesis rocked a packed bowl. With big drums, synthesizers and the ageless vocals of Phil Collins (pictured above), Genesis sounded as relevant and current as ever. Playing hits like Invisible Touch, Follow Me Follow You, Home by the Sea and Mama delighted the crowd of 18,000+ fans. A Hollywood Bowl rarity occurred on this night as rain gently fell for the beginning of the show, stopped during the middle, and then fell steadily throughout the remainder of the show. It was actually very memorable to see the rain falling and it felt like it brought the crowd closer together because everyone had to endure the same wetness. The Bowl has a “rain or shine” policy and Genesis did their very best, but the show ended a bit earlier because of some technical difficulties. I don’t think anyone truly believed it was going to rain that night because some of the instruments didn’t fully get covered. Overall it was a great night.
