LOS ANGELES –

WHAT:  On May 17th, 2008, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is hosting “ A Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters” on the “Midwest Street” backlot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.  1,400 guests from all across the country are expected to attend this always sold-out event.  Over 45 celebrity chefs from around the world are paired with 67 of California’s most talented winemakers to present a tasting and hors d’oeuvres extravaganza.

The 19th annual “Winemasters” benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Last May’s event net over $1,520,000 for the Foundation’s vital research and care centers.

This year, the event boasts one of the most extravagant auctions in history with over 1000 live and silent auction items from fantasy trips to exclusive collector wines.  The live auction this year includes a twelve-day voyage to Antarctica with a stopover in the Presidential Suite at the Ritz-Carlton in Santiago, Chile and a Custom MODUS F11 Digital Piano from Yamaha with back panel designed by quintessential Los Angeles artist Andy Moses.  Live auction wine lots include a unique 3.0L bottle of 1983 Chateau d’Yquem and a 12-magnum case of very rare vineyard designate Cabernet Sauvignons from Paul Hobbs.

Major sponsors include American Airlines, Go Country 105 FM, Dole Food Company, Cobblestone Vineyards, the Alfred Hitchcock Family, Universal Studios, Flask Fine Wines, Fiji Water, Ameristar Casinos, Inc. and BJ’s Restaurant Foundation.  Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. has donated the limited drawing prize, a 2008 Prius.

Thanks to new treatments, people with cystic fibrosis are now living one year longer for every year of research.  Sponsors, vintners, chefs and guests understand their support is the reason for this lifesaving reprieve.  The momentum and excitement are growing for a record fundraising effort this May, and the event is expected to sell out earlier than ever before.
