Britax Baby Car Seat is the most comfortable, safe product we have discovered (3/10)
From the time our baby was very young, driving in the car was virtually impossible. She would scream and I don’t mean cry, I mean scream! We tried tilting the car seat so that it was more upright wondering if the angle had something to do with her discomfort. We tried sitting with her in the back seat, having her sit alone, singing songs exciting songs, singing soothing songs, humming, clapping, jiggling toys, making noise, keeping it quiet… you name it, we did it! Nothing seemed to work. Nothing that is until we switched to a Britax Advocate CS car seat (pictured below).
This was a key move for our sanity and our daughter’s comfort. Perhaps it was the Infant Body Pillow for infant positioning and a custom fit or the Plush, Premium Cover Set with matching belly pad provides extra comfort that made the difference. This car seat is soft and spacious. Our daughter looks like a queen sitting in it.. We actually took a 2 1/2 hour car ride to Palm Springs recently and our daughter was content and comfortable playing with her toys in the backseat while she sat in her new Britax. In the past that would be unheard of. We could barely make the 1/2-hour trip to visit her grandparents without multiple stops for crying breaks.
Some things that we like about the car seat are (other than the fact that we can finally travel with our baby) there are Harness Holders that keep harness straps out of the way while placing the baby in the car seat. There are merely two Velcro strips that hold the straps back. They make all the difference as we are placing the squirming kid in trying not to have her sit on the straps. It was easy to install because of a Small Contoured Base that ensures a tight installation in all types of vehicles. Also it has True Side Impact Protection which distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion, contains the head and body, and keeps the head, neck and spine "in true" or aligned, to limit injury. That gives us piece of mind. Priced at $369.99 it is well worth the money!
