The Fairmont Kea Lani is the perfect place to vacation at for families wanting relaxation or couples wanting romance. Either way the facilities are lush but also casual making one feel at home away from home. On arrival, you will be greeted with delicious guava juice, a flower lay for females, a beaded necklace for males and a bucket and shovel for the kids. This sets the tone for the trip putting one in an island state of mind.
The accommodations vary from suites including a separate room with a pull out couch, a balcony with ocean view if you choose, a large size bathroom with a nice bathtub and mini kitchen with a refrigerator, sink and microwave. The amenities make it very easy to travel with kids from the kid’s camp with several activities offered, a baby pool, a kid’s pool with slide, a buffet breakfast free for kids up to five years old, the white sand beach and clear water and many other daily activities offered: scuba, snorkeling, free transportation to places in the Wailea area.
The staff is very informative and friendly. For adults there are several options to enjoy: from the adult pool, the lounge with live music to get a drink at, 24 hour pool and jacuzzi access, 24 hour room service, movies to rent at your TV in the room, a romantic dinner poolside at Ko Restaurant and the spa which is completely serene and relaxing. Several treatments are offered here. I recommend the lomi lomi massage, a special from Hawaii filled with long strokes. The private rooms are the perfect getaway for time alone.
Ko Restaurant is a must; featuring local Hawaiian dishes in a majestic surrounding. For $75 more you can enjoy a private cabana at poolside. For starters the rice crackers and hummus/edamame dip is light and flavorful, as well as the home baked bread with lavender – honey butter. The calamari was very tasteful and fresh. The green salad garnished with macadamia nuts had the touch of Hawaii. For entrees we had flavorful lamb chops with the hawaiian purple sweet potatoes and the special seafood dish filled with the treasures of the sea: fresh oysters, clams and other fine fish. To end do not miss the delicious home baked bread pudding and chocolate dessert with macadamia nut crust.
In all, if you are looking for a memorable, low-key, relaxed, accommodating environment, you will not go wrong with The Fairmont Kea Lani.

ACCOMMODATIONS: The resort features 413 one-bedroom suites and 37 luxurious two and three-bedroom villas. Each spacious suite and villa has contemporary Hawaiian furnishings.
SUITES: One-bedroom suites offer a spacious 840 square feet of living space and private lanais (balconies or patios). The living room features a double sofa bed, full entertainment system including a DVD player and high-speed Internet access. Kō
Kō offers cuisine reflective of the many cultures of Hawaii’s sugarcane plantation era. Kō, meaning “sugarcane” in Hawaiian, features Ahi “On the Rock,” shichimi spiced with orange ginger miso sauce, Lobster Tempura with spicy-sesame, pineapple sweet chili garlic and grapefruit soy sauce, Maui Cattle Company “Paniolo” Rib-Eye Steak, and Coconut-Curry Lamb Chops marinated and grilled with mango-mint salsa. Each dish celebrates the cultures of the plantation workers with an emphasis on sustainability.

The 1500 square foot kids’ camp features a permanent elevated stage with long curtains for hula performances from camp attendees.
