Mountain High offers fun skiing/snowboarding locally to Los Angeles (1/13)

Mountain High is a user-friendly small local resort that makes good use of the terrain, catering to snowboarders with ample runs for skiers. There are many jumps and a terrain park for the snowboarders, which there are plenty of them.  Electronic gates open into lift lines with helpful chair operators and the high-speed quad. The resort has a few other lifts that are a little slower but you can pretty much go anywhere off the high-speed quad on the West Side. The East side was closed when we went but that adds a variety of skiing when it is available as you can drive or take a shuttle there from the West Side.  They offer night skiing from 5pm-10pm.

 

Mountain High is a straight shot from Los Angeles minus windy mountain roads near the quaint center of Wrightwood approximately 1 and ½- 2hrs driving depending on traffic.   The resort offers reasonably priced meals burgers, convenient equipment rentals center (you need to buy your lift ticket first), lessons and shuttle service.
