Taste of Farmers Market Menu Increases

Market Birthday Celebration Features More Than 50 Tastes

Farmers Market / Los Angeles, CA – The menu for Farmers Market’s annual birthday celebration, Taste of Farmers Market, has expanded to include a vegetarian treat, carnivore delights and a delicious chilly drink ideal for the Tuesday evening, July 16 strolling feast.  In all, well over 50 of the famed Market’s restaurants, grocers, confectioners, bakers and gourmet shops will offer tastes of the best of their best between 5 and 9 pm.

“We’re especially pleased that the Market’s newest gourmet eateries are participating in Taste of Farmers Market.  Now, the party is the perfect way to discover our brand new Zia Valentina’s delicious, healthy granitas and Fritzi Dog’s superior gourmet hot dogs.  We’re offering tastes of just about anything anyone wants, so it’s a great way to discover new eating adventures and enjoy old favorites, too,” says Ilysha Buss, Marketing Director at Farmers Market.

The Taste of Farmers Market menu also includes mini-chicken pot pies and pork belly BLTs, Brazilian barbecue, gumbo, falafel, crepes, stuffed mushrooms and pastrami.  Recently added tastes include orange tofu from China Depot, barbecue brisket from Bryan’s Pit BBQ, tuna spoons from Sushi a Go Go, and Wagyu top sirloin steak from Marconda’s Meats.  The menu includes beer and wine samples and non-alcoholic beverages, and  a strolling mariachi band will provide musical entertainment during the evening’s festivities.

Tickets are $35 in advance and are now available online via the Market’s website, www.farmersmarketla.com, over the counter at the Farmers Market Office store, upstairs just inside the Market’s Gate One, or by phone at 323-933-9211.  Because Taste of Farmers Market, now in its 5th year, has become especially popular with families, co-workers and groups of dining friends, there is a 10% discount on orders of 10 or more. The ticket price increases to $40 at the door.  Free parking validation will be provided to attendees.

“We’re serving an endless amount of great food,” says Ms. Buss.  ”From salads and appetizers like jumbo shrimp to dozens of entrees and desserts including English toffee, doughnut holes and root beer floats, it’s a delicious challenge for anybody who likes eating to taste it all.”
