State Social House newly opened restaurant, bar, backroom lounge on the Sunset Strip- March 2014

The State Social House recently opened on the Sunset Strip where the old Red Rock Bar & Eatery used to be between Doheny and La Cienaga.  The new establishment is very cool and casual with tv’s, high and low tables, a fun atmosphere and very good food and drinks.  Start with their giant pretzel, crispy calamari or another appetizer you prefer with one of their specialty drinks, huge beer including many drafts or extensive wine list.

We next had the beet salad and shrimp flatbread with mixes mushrooms, which were very good. The seared Ahi Tuna steak with wasabi mashed potatoes and arugula is our suggestion for entrée choices but they have a nice selection of other main courses.

They are open for dinner but have happy hour specials from 4-7pm daily and a late night menu from 11:30pm-1am.  It is a great place to just hang out or meet for drinks with friends or on a date as it has wide open view with no windows over-looking the sunset strip.  The backroom smoker’s lounge for cigars and cigarettes and piano music is a popular hot spot for those who like to smoke.
